Meet The Founder
Former beauty editor and journalist Janet Hayward knows beauty inside and out. With over 25 years of learning, understanding and writing about the best in beauty, she turned this know-how into a range of products that demonstrates the effective power of pure, native plant oils.
During her time as journalist, Janet had the opportunity to meet specialists and industry leaders including dermatologists, aromatherapists, natural cosmetic chemists and botanists giving her a unique insight into the benefits of natural ingredients, and a deep understanding of skincare products, textures and the ritual of beauty. Her books, “Organic Beauty”, “Lemon’s are a Girl’s Best Friend” and “Pretty as a Peach” helped inspire the creation of the Ipsum range.

Plant oils have long been used for their medicinal and healing qualities. Ipsum was created with an understanding that plant oils naturally contain an array of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals that are invaluable in enriching, fortifying and protecting the skin. Ipsum uses high quality, pure and organic oils, esters and waxes which are extracted only from plants grown in their native habitat to ensure the integrity of benefits to the skin.

The Power of Native Plant Oils
To understand why you can see such incredible results after using Ipsum products, you must look at the power of the raw ingredients – in Ipsum’s case, the native plants right here in Australia.
“Geographical location affects the compound constituents of all plant oils. In their natural habitat, plants absorb and generate the nourishment they need to grow and flourish from the available soil and climate. The excess energy they create is converted into valuable fatty acids and glycerol (triglycerides) which along with excess vitamins and minerals, form a nutrient rich oil that is unique to each plant species. This oil is stored in the seeds to power the growth of the new plant. In addition, plants have evolved ways to protect themselves to optimise their ability to flourish in their habitat. Essential oils produced by plants play the important protective role from the threat of immediate environmental danger, such as bacteria, fungi, UV rays etc and to repel marauding insects – while also attracting pollinators with their aroma.

The Ipsum Skincare Routine
The Ipsum routine is a joyful sensory experience – easy and effortless, without compromising on results. The range includes a number of multi-tasking products that can be used together to amplify results.
Cleanse
The Best Skin Cleansing Oil Balm can be used to remove makeup and deeply cleanse the skin while delivering nourishment. The gorgeous cloud-like balm gently soothes the skin as it purifies.
It doubles as a fantastic face mask, simply apply to clean skin and leave on for 15 minutes. The Best Skin Cleansing Oil Balm features camellia seed oil, coconut oil and shea butter that deeply moisturise, alongside Sandalwood with it’s natural anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antimicrobial properties.
Purify & Brighten
After cleansing, apply the Best Skin MicroPolish once or twice a week by decanting a teaspoon of Enzyme MicroPolish into the bottle cap then tip into your palm and activate with water. You can also mix it with the Cleansing Oil Balm for a more nourishing exfoliation. Thanks to an antioxidant-rich blend of fine-milled rice powder and kaolin, it is soothing and anti-inflammatory.
Prefer to mask? Mix the Enzyme MicroPolish with the Cleansing Oil Balm and apply as an exfoliating mask to the skin for 5 minutes while relaxing. The gentle AHA and BHA enzyme-action polishes and deeply cleanses to reveal brighter, smoother skin and more refined texture.

A luxurious concentrate of 23 pure, organic native plant oils, Ipsum Best Skin Face Oil Intense Treatment is our choice for restoring and enlivening the skin, morning and night. A favourite when travelling, this hero face oil actively helps balance and regulate the body’s circadian rhythm and reinvigorates skin’s radiance – think glow time.Â

We like to finish our Ipsum routine with the Lip Oil Balm and Best Skin Eye Oil Balm.
