Meet the Founder of Furtuna Skin
Agatha Relota Luczo is the founder and CEO of Furtuna Skin, an Italian skincare brand combining regenerative agriculture practices with modern science to drive unprecedented performance of its olive oil-based products.
Agatha began her career at age sixteen, gracing the pages of Vogue, W, and L’Officiel and starring in campaigns for Chanel, YSL, and Hermès. As a model, Agatha worked with the most sought-after makeup artists, skincare experts, and physicians, acquiring an extensive understanding of products, ingredients, and regimens to help care for the skin and overall health and well-being. She parlays this knowledge into Furtuna Skin to drive the development of the brand’s award-winning, high-performance products. Her natural beauty also radiates as the face of Furtuna Skin, showcasing the brand’s transformative effects.
As a double-certified olive oil sommelier, Agatha judges competitions all across the world and is a sought-after spokesperson on the benefits of olive oil, especially for the skin. Her joint philanthropic initiatives with her husband Steve Luczo span education and healthcare for at-risk children in the US and economic revival in rural Sicily, for which Pope Francis conferred upon them the Pontifical Order of Pope Saint Sylvester.

How is Furtuna unique?
Furtuna Skin is different from other clean beauty brands because:
1. We debut uncommon botanicals that have either rarely been used or never been used before, like Anchusa azurea. Others use commonplace ingredients you can find everywhere, like alfalfa.
2. We select wild-foraged botanicals that are also certified organic. Many brands use ingredients that are either wild foraged or organic but not both. If they use organic, the ingredients are cultivated and tend to be less potent than wild.
3. Our formulas are proprietary and can’t be replicated.
4. Our methods are uniquely innovative. We use a fast soundwave extraction process to protect the nutrient potency of our ingredients. Others tend to rely heavily on harsh chemical solvents or slow, outdated technology that can over-process and damage the ingredients.
5. We formulate with costly concentrations of bioactive nutrients to achieve the highest performance and produce transformative results. Other brands tend to use lower levels of bioactives as well as fillers.
6. We test for skin-specific antioxidant benefits. Others tend to rely solely on food-based ORAC antioxidant tests that are less relevant for skin.
Organic Beauty
Most of our ingredients are organic as we source the majority of them from our certified organic farm in Sicily. This is quite unusual as wild-foraged ingredients don’t always have the added status of certified organic. Our ingredients have been grown with no pesticides used within 100 miles and on land that hasn’t been cultivated in over 100 years. Our oil-based products are 100% organic. We strive to go beyond organic with many ingredients of even more potent quality because they are wild-foraged plants. Some ingredients cannot be categorized as organic only because they’re not agricultural, including water and minerals like those found in volcanic ash.
Wild-foraged botanicals
Wild-foraged botanicals grow in the wild, and we forage them in their own natural habitat. Without any human intervention, these plants have to fend for themselves against environmental stressors, which forces them to become stronger and more resilient. They develop extra-potent nutrients to defend themselves. Through our innovative methods, we are able to pass those benefits onto skin.

Furtuna Skin is free of synthetic fragrance
Furtuna Skin products do not contain any synthetic fragrances. Although we do not add any scent to our formulas, you will smell the delightful natural aroma of our botanicals. Unless specifically stated otherwise, all of our scents are gentle and mild so they won’t interfere with your perfumes or natural body scents.
La Furtuna Farm
Our La Furtuna Farm is a certified organic farm in Sicily. It holds a biodiversity of plants, with more than 12,000 olive trees (some of which are from 600 to 1,500 years old), 500 unique plants, 50 medicinal wild herbs, and archeological remains from 2000 B.C. The extensive unspoiled landscape offers different elevations and microclimates to allow different plants to thrive. Pure mineral spring waters nourish the plants with a reservoir of nutrients. The soils are enriched with clay, limestone, and sandstone, imbuing the plants and trees with a unique mineral complexity. The plants here are exceptionally potent and pure because the land has been undeveloped for more than 400 years and the air is clean and pollution free. Pasquale “Mimmo” Marino, our chief botanist and ecologist, revitalizes endangered plant species near extinction.
