What is the difference between deodorant and antiperspirant?
Anti-perspirant prevents you from sweating. That is, the aluminum contained in anti-perspirant acts as a plug on your body’s sweat ducts and prevents you from sweating and releasing other byproducts of sweat. Natural Deodorant works by reducing and neutralizing odors associated with sweat.
How does Active Humans deodorant work?
Active ingredients are the core of a deodorant, their main function is to prolong the effectiveness and lifespan of our product. We use a variety of actives – which hazel absorbs moisture, vegetable enzymes break down odour causing bacteria and antibacterial alcohol prolongs the efficacy of our deodorant.
How do you use a spray deodorant?
Apply 2 – 3 sprays evenly to a dry underarm as needed. Each 60 mL bottle contains over 500 sprays, which means that you get a 100 day supply. Keep your bottle and purchase a Refill Deodorant to save money and packaging waste.
Is there a detox phase with Active Humans?
This can range from person to person, but the majority of our customers transition smoothly. If this is your first time using a natural deodorant we recommend applying multiple times throughout the day. Some people can take up to 2 weeks to transition to a natural product.
How do you detox your armpits naturally?
Your armpits will detox naturally when you stop using an antiperspirant. Just switching to our aluminum free deodorant is a great first step. If you do feel like you need to do something to help remove built up bacteria in your armpits, our customers love to apply a bentonite clay pit mask. Then apply your deo to dry, clean armpits. Repeat every other week or whenever you need a reset!
Is Active Humans sustainable?
Yes, we chose to use glass bottles as they are reusable, recyclable and even refillable. Glass bottles keep our products’ effectiveness top notch and the experience luxury. This was a non negotiable for us, glass bottles are more able to break down in landfills compared to plastic which for us is key.

Can I spray it elsewhere on my body?
Our deodorant is multi-functional. It works well as a body spray, perfume, room refresher and around your nether regions.
What does natural mean?
Our products are formulated with plant-based ingredients, always free from aluminium, parabens, phthalates, talc and sulfates. When available we source organic, raw materials that are either plant or mineral based. We’re always looking to improve our products, sourcing the best ingredients, researching new actives and benefit-rich essential oils. Our mission is to build the best natural spray deodorant in the market.
Is Active Humans free from aluminium, baking soda and parabens?
Always. We use our product everyday so being free from aluminium was a non-negotiable. Baking soda, although found in many natural deodorants, has a high pH which majority of people end up reacting to, including our founder David. For that reason we are free from baking soda now and always. Parabens are also found in many personal care products and can be quickly absorbed into the body, they’re known to disrupt hormones so we steer clear.
How long will the deodorant last?
Our community has put our product to the test. You can expect up to 12 hours of protection, which is 20% longer than other natural deodorants.
Is it made for people with sensitive skin?
Yes, our ingredients like chamomile and witch hazel have skin soothing properties. If you are hypersensitive consider using our unscented deodorant, which has a higher concentration of active ingredients.
Is Active Humans pH balanced?
Every batch of deodorant is formulated and tested to a 4.0 pH rating, which is optimal for the underarm.
Can your deodorant expire?
All of our products are free of parabens (a chemical preservative used in cosmetics and personal care). We recommend using deodorants within 12 months of opening.
